It was a long day yesterday. My siblings and I went to Tampines to catch a talk by Dr. Yaacob Ibrahim on the Islamic-Awareness week. After that, we went to Petapis at Kovan together with my older sister's friends.
When we first stepped into the building, we saw no children there, only adults. The students from the NUS Malay Society were in the prayer room, talking and having fun with the children.
After a while in that room, they went out to the basketball court and played some game. I felt happy to see the smiles on everyone's faces.
Then, we had our barbeque. The children there, ages ranged from about 4 to 16 years old, were all enjoying thier barbequed food. The students from the NUS were eating to gether while chatting and having fun with them. I felt hard to talk to the children there, but only for a moment. The boys there were all fun and happy. They were really happy that we came to spend our time with them.
I did not talk to the girls only until we had our prayers. I was shy at first, and I am sure they were too. But after a while, we began talking to each other as if we knew one another for a very long period of time already. Some of the girls were of my age. So it was somehow easier for me to talk to them. I also did try my best to talk to the younger ones. They were all really cute.
There was also a national soccer player to join us after our prayer, Baihakki Khaizan. He also participated in the mini games that we were playing in the prayer room itself.

The children ther are actually normal children like me. But it's just that they are in lack of love, care and attention.
I really had a fun time being with them. I would really love to visit them again some other time to know them more.
